If you don't see what you need, email us, reach out on WhatsApp, or request a call via our contact form.

  • What are antenatal classes?

Antenatal classes are for parents-to-be to attend before they have their baby. Our course offers a realistic perspective on labour, birth and being at home with your baby, all delivered in a relaxed environment. For more information please visit our Courses page.

  • When should I start attending antenatal classes?

We recommend you attend the antenatal course between week 20 and week 35 of your pregnancy.

  • Where are the classes held/are online options available?

Please check the course page for full details of where the classes are held. We run in person at St Margaret's Playing Fields in M16. There are no online options available, as creating the in-person community is part of the experience we offer. If you need to miss a session, please contact us or reach out on WhatsApp, and we will make sure to share the information from that class with you.

  • Who runs the classes and what are their qualifications?

Our educators are FEDANT-accredited antenatal educators. We trained with The Perinatal Academy in early 2026.

  • How are The Nest Collective classes different from NHS, NCT, or Happy Baby Happy Parents?

We run small, in-person courses in Whalley Range and Chorlton, shaped around the people who live here. That means content that reflects local services, real experiences, and what actually comes up for families in this area. Groups are kept to a size where conversations can happen easily, questions don’t get rushed, and people see the same faces each week. Our educators are FEDANT-accredited, and a breastfeeding counsellor is part of the team, so you’re supported by people who get to know you and your situation. We’re well connected locally, from feeding support to postnatal groups and specialist services, and we share those connections as part of the course. The aim isn’t just to prepare you for birth, but to help you feel part of something ongoing, with people and support you can come back to. We sit alongside NHS care, not instead of it, offering extra time, space, and continuity. Everything we do is grounded in care for both parents and baby. See our course page for what we cover.

  • Can my partner, friend, or family member come with me?

Of course! Anyone you would like to have with you whether that’s your birthing partner, a close friend or family member.

  • Can I come by myself and do you offer single person discount?

Absolutely. Please contact us or reach out on WhatsApp for a single person discount.

  • Are the classes suitable for first-time parents only, or can I attend if I've had a baby before?

Our course is primarily aimed at first time parents, however if you and/or your partner have had a baby before, you are still very welcome to attend as the class content can be adjusted to suit the needs of the group

  • Can I attend if I'm having a multiple pregnancy (twins, triplets)?

Definitely! We’ll support you with finding specific information tailored to a multiple birth.

  • What is your cancellation and refund policy?

Refunds are available within 14 days of booking. After this time, all bookings are non-refundable. Please contact us or reach out on WhatsApp in the event of extenuating circumstances. You can also read our booking & cancellation page for full terms.

  • How many spaces are available per group?

We want to keep the classes intimate to help foster friendships so we aim for 6-10 couples per course.

  • Will there be time to ask questions?

Definitely! We’ll always have time for questions during the classes, and if there’s anything you think of afterwards don't hesitate to email us or reach out on WhatsApp.

  • Do I need to bring anything?

Feel free to bring a notepad and pen to make notes, and anything to make yourself more comfortable (e.g. cushions). Chairs will be provided.

  • What if I go into labour before the course is finished?

We can send you any information you’ve missed. We’ll also be available to contact after your birth, and of course your fellow course mates!

  • Are the classes suitable if I'm planning a caesarean section?

Definitely, we will be covering caesarean births and how to look after yourself postpartum.

  • Can I attend if I have a high-risk pregnancy?

Yes, any specific information regarding your healthcare you will need to speak to your midwife about.

  • Is there a support group or community after the course ends?

Yes! You will be added into the wider The Nest Collective WhatsApp community as well as a group with the other parents on your course.
