Pregnancy meetups in Chorlton & south Manchester

Free pregnancy socials for people in Chorlton, Whalley Range and nearby: a relaxed way to meet others before your baby arrives.

Now: Free evening walks · through September, weather permitting

We love running free pregnancy meetups and socials across south west Manchester. Right now that means Bumps in the Park, our evening walks through September, weather permitting. When the light fades, we move indoors for relaxed socials at a local bar.

We welcome people from across M16, M21 and beyond, including Old Trafford, Whalley Range, Moss Side, Chorlton, Stretford, Didsbury, Hulme, Withington, and Fallowfield. We also share updates on Instagram.

Bumps in the Park

Bumps in the Park is our free walking group for pregnant people. A gentle way to get outside and meet other local parents-to-be before the baby arrives.

We meet every 2nd and 4th Thursday at 6:30pm and rotate between local parks. The location each week goes out by email, on Instagram, and to our WhatsApp group; sign up below if you'd like updates.

We'll keep walking through September while the evenings are still light enough, weather permitting. When it gets too dark for a comfortable stroll, we'll switch to our indoor socials (see below).

  • Where: We rotate between Longford Park, Chorlton Park and Alexandra Park. Check your email or Instagram for the meeting point each week
  • Cost: Free, no booking needed on the day
  • Who it's for: Pregnant people at any stage; partners, friends and dogs welcome

Socials at a local bar · from autumn 2026

Indoor pregnancy socials

As the evenings get darker, we're moving our free pregnancy meetups indoors. A relaxed meetup at a local bar: soft drinks, food if you fancy it, and the same warm company you've found at our walks.

We're finalising the venue and will share the location with everyone on the mailing list and WhatsApp group. If you've been to Bumps in the Park before, you're very welcome! And if this is your first Nest Collective social, come as you are.

  • When: TBC (from autumn, once park walks pause)
  • Where: Local bar in Chorlton, location to be confirmed
  • What to expect: Soft drinks, optional food and good chats
  • Cost: Free to attend (pay for your own drinks/food)
  • Who it's for: Pregnant people at any stage; partners and friends welcome
August 2026

A one-off indoor social we ran in summer 2026

Bumps at the Beagle

In August 2026 we tried something different: taking Bumps in the Park inside at The Beagle in Chorlton. Pizza, mocktails, and a room full of people on the same journey.

It was a lovely evening and helped us realise how much people wanted a regular indoor option when the weather and light aren't walk-friendly. That thinking shaped our autumn socials: same spirit, new format.

Common questions

  • Are pregnancy meetups in Chorlton free?

Yes. Our pregnancy socials and meetups are free to attend. At indoor events you pay for your own drinks or food if you want them.

  • Do I need to book for pregnancy socials?

No booking is needed on the day. Sign up for email updates below and we'll send you the venue and anything you need to know before each meetup.

  • Can I bring my partner or a friend?

Absolutely. Birth partners, friends, and dogs (at our outdoor walks) are all welcome.

  • I'm not sure anyone else will be there

Completely normal to feel nervous. People often come on their own and leave having swapped numbers. It's a small, friendly group, no pressure to perform or share more than you're comfortable with.

  • Where in south Manchester are the meetups?

We're based around Chorlton and Whalley Range (M16, M21), with events easy to reach from Old Trafford, Moss Side, Stretford, Withington and nearby areas. The exact venue goes out by email each week.

  • Is this the same as an antenatal class?

No, these are informal socials, not structured classes. For antenatal education, see our course page. We would love to see you at both!

Looking for structured antenatal education? See the course or book your place.

A community forming
